Hydraulic Components in the SÖRENSEN System

The heart of SÖRENSEN hydraulics is the power pack of the X1 and X4 series with hydraulic pump and pressure accumulator acting as a hydraulic energy storage element. Pump shafts, motor brushes and accumulator seals are exposed to continuous strain from recurring load cycles. Typical wear patterns are declining flow rate, unusual pump noises and a slowly dropping pre-charge pressure at the accumulator – indicators suggesting that power pack and accumulator should be checked together before further components are replaced.

The central X1 and X4 lift cylinders handle the actual platform movement; piston rods, support rings and the M33x1.5 rod-end adapters form the regularly used interface to the mechanics. Classic wear points are the seal kits – inner and outer seals, scrapers and guide bands. In addition, pressure-limiting, lowering and directional valves as well as hydraulic hoses safeguard the interaction between pressure accumulator, lift cylinder and valve technology within the patented X1 concept.

Note on Pressure Accumulator Technology and the X1 Patent

Unlike purely pump-driven hydraulics, SÖRENSEN combines the patented X1 design with a pressure accumulator that acts as a hydraulic energy storage element. This design feature buffers load peaks, smooths the pressure curve and supports the calm platform movement. When troubleshooting, it is therefore worth specifically checking accumulator function, nitrogen pre-charge and the interaction with the central X1 or X4 cylinder.
