Electrical Components in the SÖRENSEN System
The high-current path of the SÖRENSEN electrical system is formed by main relays and power relays that switch the inrush current of the pump motor and keep the on-board network stable under load. High-current fuses protect cables and power pack in the event of a fault. Typical wear patterns are burnt contacts, sluggish switching behaviour and unusually warm fuse holders – early indicators of declining contact reliability. A targeted visual inspection of these components often avoids the premature replacement of costly control boards.
On the operating side, Series 7 key switches, hand-held cable switches, tail-board buttons and the CAN ARC1 foot switch electronics are at work. They communicate with the central X1/X4 control board and are supplemented by limit and micro switches that capture platform and flap positions. Junction boxes, wiring harnesses and connectors link sensors and operating elements; in the harsh truck environment they face moisture, vibration and mechanical stress and are therefore an integral part of scheduled maintenance.
The SÖRENSEN electrical range comprises several hundred individual parts across all capacity classes and model years. Key component groups include:
- X1/X4 control boards, main relays and power relays
- Foot switches with CAN bus electronics ARC1
- Series 7 key switches, hand-held controls and tail-board buttons
- Limit switches, micro switches, fuses and junction boxes
In addition, we supply wiring harnesses, plugs and connectors, fuses, control elements, warning lights and numerous further components for diagnostics, repair and modernisation.
