CEMA P9 series – modular Ø22 mm CENELEC control elements for industrial panels

The CEMA P9 series is a modular control-element system from General Electric / CEMA, made in Italy. It comprises pushbuttons, selector switches, toggle switches and joysticks in the Ø22 mm mounting hole pattern according to CENELEC EN 50007 and reaches IP66 protection. Three operator finishes are available: round in satin chrome, round in thermoplastic and square in thermoplastic. Modular system and mechanical layout of the P9 line

The P9 operators are locked in the panel via a patented rear collar nut. The associated contact and function blocks are designed as snap-on rear modules and can be replaced individually without tools, which noticeably eases maintenance and reconfiguration during operation. The IP66 rating is one level above the heavy-duty 077 series and qualifies the P9 line for operator panels with increased requirements for dust and powerful water jet protection. The Ø22 mm hole pattern according to CENELEC EN 50007 ensures that the operators fit into standardised control panels and operator consoles.

Contact blocks and selection criteria

The control circuits of the P9 series are already cleared for low energy from 12 V / 5 mA, covering low-voltage signal paths in modern control electronics. Typical contact blocks include P9B11VN (10 A, 1 NO + 1 NC) or P9B01VN (1 NC). Correct selection depends on the operator shape (round satin chrome, round thermoplastic, square thermoplastic), the function (pushbutton, selector switch, toggle switch, joystick) and the combination of contact blocks in line with the required switching logic.
