Caps for underrun protection – covers for tube ends and fastening points

Designs and materials – plastic, aluminium and sheet steel
Caps are offered as moulded plastic parts, as die-cast aluminium or as welded sheet steel versions. Plastic variants can simply be plugged on and replaced, aluminium and steel versions are additionally bolted or welded. The inner dimension follows the tube geometry of the underrun protection – round, square and rectangular profiles are common. The surface is often powder-coated, anodised or galvanised and thus protected against corrosion and UV exposure. Some designs additionally integrate a reflective marking at the rear.
