Tilt switches and reed sensors – position feedback for the platform
Tilt switches with reed contact report to the control unit whether the platform of a tail lift is in the intended position – typically horizontal for loading or unloading. An integrated steel ball or a pivoting magnet triggers the glass-tube contact at a defined switching threshold. At SULEJ Ladebordwand you will find tilt switches and reed sensors in different switching angles and connection variants, matched to the respective installed component – for reliable position monitoring in daily truck operation.
Reed contact and pivot mechanics – discrete switching point in a compact space
The reed contact inside the housing consists of two ferromagnetic blades that touch or separate under a sufficient magnetic field. In a tilt switch this contact sits together with a pivoting permanent magnet in a small chamber; when the platform leaves the tolerance range, gravity changes the magnet position and the contact switches. This purely passive design requires no auxiliary energy to hold the switching state and operates bounce-free. Different switching angles and cable variants are precisely matched to typical platform geometries.
