Foot switch electronics – signal evaluation for foot switches on tail lifts
Foot switch electronics are compact evaluation units that capture the switching signal of a foot switch, plausibility-check it and convert it into a usable control signal for the hydraulic logic of the tail lift. They are housed either directly inside the foot switch enclosure or as a separate board within the operating periphery and thus belong to the sensor level of the lift gate control. At SULEJ Ladebordwand you will find foot switch electronics in various connection variants, matched to the respective installed component – for reliable signal processing in daily truck operation.
Signal processing and connection to the main control unit
The electronic board checks the incoming switching signal for bouncing, multiple actuation and correct switching duration before passing a clean pulse to the main control unit. Typical components include optocouplers, low-pass filters and small microcontrollers that suppress noise and protect against false triggering. Depending on the design, the connection is realised via wired plug connectors, ribbon cables or screw terminals; the supply voltage usually lies within the low-voltage range of the vehicle electrical system. Different board layouts are precisely matched to the evaluation logic in the control box, ensuring stable signal transfer between footplate and hydraulic control.
