Latches for roll stops – locking of the flap mechanism
Latches are the form-fitting locking elements that fix the roll stop flap in the locked or release position. They engage in a recess on the flap lever or on the shaft and hold the position until the next operation. At SULEJ Ladebordwand you will find latches in different profiles, spring strengths and connection variants, matched to common flap mechanism designs on the market – for a defined position of the safety elements on the tail lift.
Construction and function – locking tabs, spring plates and pins
A latch typically consists of a locking tab, a spring element and a holder on the support plate. The tab engages in a recess on the operating lever and is released again via spring or lever travel. Common designs are versions with a spring-loaded pin, with a spring plate or with an additional locking screw. Corrosion-protected steels and spring steels are used, sometimes with phosphating or galvanising. The geometry of the locking tab depends on the lever mechanism and the desired holding and release force.
