Closing cylinders – locking the platform in the transport position
Closing cylinders take over the closing and locking of the platform of a tail lift at the rear portal. They pull the platform cleanly against the sealing strip at the end of the stroke and keep it under pressure in its end position while driving. At SULEJ Ladebordwand you will find closing cylinders in different stroke classes and connection patterns, matched to the installed component and available in various sizes and connection variants – a specific element for the end-position function of the platform.
Function and design – closing under load
Closing cylinders work as double-acting units and are controlled via a separate control circuit. As the end position is approached, they pull the platform with a defined closing force against the stop strip, while the main cylinders are already in their upper end position. The design is more compact than that of the lift cylinders, the stroke is significantly shorter and the working pressure is metered via a dedicated sequence valve. Rod guide and rod seal are designed in such a way that no leakage occurs even with permanent closing pressure during driving.
