ZCASE fuse – modular high-current bolt-down fuse by Littelfuse with minimal footprint
The ZCASE fuse by Littelfuse is a modular bolt-down fuse with a stand-alone housing format tailored for direct integration into distribution blocks and power distribution modules and offering a particularly small footprint within the high-current segment. It clearly differs from the classic flat and other bolt-down designs of the family and addresses applications where protective elements are closely integrated with busbars and distribution points. At SULEJ Ladebordwand you will find the ZCASE fuse as a protection solution for electrical architectures built around centrally arranged distribution blocks – including starter and battery protection.
Modular housing of the ZCASE and electrical layout
A characteristic feature of the ZCASE fuse is its enclosed PPA thermoplastic housing with defined connection points that bolt directly into the intended distribution block. The series covers a current range up to 600 A at 32 V electrical system voltage with a Slo-Blo® time-delayed tripping characteristic close to that of the MEGA series. Bolting is via M6 for 40–250 A and via M8 for 300–600 A. Inside, tin-plated copper contacts and ceramic insulating tubes ensure low contact resistance and a defined arc path. The breaking capacity is 2000 A and the permitted operating temperature ranges from -40 °C to +125 °C.
