Foot switch rubbers – step surface and protective skin of the foot switch
Foot switch rubbers form the upper step surface of a foot switch and belong to the classic wear parts around the operation of the tail lift. They take on three tasks at the same time: non-slip support for the operator, protective skin against water and dirt as well as pressure distribution onto the underlying step mechanism. At SULEJ Ladebordwand you will find foot switch rubbers in different geometries and surface profiles, matched to the respective installed component – for secure footing and defined step actuation in daily truck operation.
Rubber compound, profile and step feel
Foot switch rubbers are made from oil- and weather-resistant elastomers such as EPDM or NBR. The compound is matched to a wide temperature range so the rubber remains elastic in winter and does not soften in summer. On the step side, a coarse rib or stud profile provides non-slip support – even with a wet platform or dirty soles. The underside is usually smooth, with a slight lift element above the contact lever that builds up the defined pressure point only when the operator steps with sufficient force.
