Manufacturer plates make the origin of a tail lift visible on the component itself and support the clear assignment of a power pack or lifting gear to a particular model family. They carry the logo, a short model designation and occasionally a factory code that serves as the first ordering criterion in spare parts research or repair. Brand identification and model designation as ordering criterion

Unlike the type plate, the manufacturer plate does not carry full technical data but focuses on visual brand identification: logo, lettering and optionally a model or series code. During an initial fleet survey it allows the operator to recognise from a distance which model family is installed, before detailed key figures are read from the type plate. This split of responsibilities – identification versus data – makes both plates complementary elements of the marking system.

Position on the pump housing, control box and lift arm

Manufacturer plates are preferably mounted in well visible and protected spots. On the hydraulic power pack the plate is often placed on the pump housing or terminal box, on the control panel on the front face above the operating elements. On the lift arm or platform frame the plate usually sits on a flat surface that is neither covered by the platform nor fully exposed to direct weather impact during driving. A thoughtful position preserves legibility over the entire service life.
