Hydraulic oils – operating fluid for the tail lift hydraulic system
Hydraulic oils are the operating fluid that handles power transmission, lubrication and heat dissipation throughout the entire hydraulic circuit of a tail lift. They circulate between tank, pump, valves and cylinders and, through their properties, decisively determine response behaviour, wear protection and the service life of the components. At SULEJ Ladebordwand you will find hydraulic oils in different viscosity and quality grades, matched to the installed power pack and the typical operating temperatures in distribution traffic.
HLP oils and viscosity grades at a glance
Tail lifts typically use HLP oils to DIN 51524 part 2, supplemented by wear-reducing and ageing-resistant additives. The common viscosity grades ISO VG 32, 46 and 68 cover the majority of applications: ISO VG 32 is preferred at low outside temperatures, ISO VG 46 serves as a universal all-weather solution in Central European distribution traffic and ISO VG 68 is used at high continuous temperatures or with heavy loads. In addition to classic mineral oils, biodegradable and fully synthetic variants are available, offering an extended temperature range and improved flow behaviour in cold conditions.
