Carbon brushes – wear part for current transmission at the commutator
Carbon brushes transfer the operating current from the stationary brush holder to the rotating commutator of the electric motor and belong to the regularly scheduled wear parts of a tail lift. At SULEJ Ladebordwand you will find matching carbon brushes in different cross sections and lengths, compatible with various market configurations – as an economical solution before the entire motor has to be replaced.
Material and function – carbon-graphite mixtures in sliding contact
Carbon brushes consist of pressed carbon-graphite mixtures whose copper or resin binder content is matched to the respective current flow and speed. A pressure spring keeps the brush in constant contact with the commutator and compensates for ongoing wear over the service life. The pigtail and plug contact provide the electrical connection to the positive terminal of the motor. The designs differ in brush cross section, length, spring preload and connection type – each matched to the installed power pack.
