Inclination sensors – continuous angle measurement of the platform
Inclination sensors provide the control unit of a tail lift with a continuous measurement of the platform angle and thus differ significantly from purely binary position contacts. They report in which degree range the platform is currently located, enabling finer sequence control – for example during the transition from lifting to closing. At SULEJ Ladebordwand you will find inclination sensors in different measuring ranges and connection variants, matched to the respective installed component – for precise position detection in daily truck operation.
MEMS design and analogue or digital signal output
Inside the sensor, a MEMS accelerometer usually evaluates the gravitational acceleration on a small oscillating mass and calculates the tilt angle from it. The sensor signal is provided either as an analogue voltage, as a current loop or as a digital signal via a fieldbus connection. Different measuring ranges – single-axis for pure longitudinal tilt or dual-axis for longitudinal and lateral position – are precisely matched to the respective geometry of the lift gate. The sensors are usually protected against overvoltage, reverse polarity and mechanical vibrations during driving operation.
