Flaps for roll stops – folding barrier elements at the platform edge
Flaps are the actual barrier elements of the roll stop. In the raised position they protrude above the platform edge and prevent roll cages, pallet trucks or cargo from rolling off the platform during lifting. Operated by the lever or through ground contact they fold sideways or downward and release the platform. At SULEJ Ladebordwand you will find flaps in different lengths, heights and bearing designs, matched to common platform configurations on the market – as replacement parts for the tail lift.
Construction details – material, geometry and bearing
Barrier flaps are usually designed as welded sheet metal constructions made of steel, in some designs of aluminium. The flap sits on the rotary shaft with a borehole or sleeve and is secured via a split pin or locking tab. The geometry follows the height and width of the platform edge so that the barrier height is sufficiently dimensioned. Galvanised or powder-coated surfaces with additional reflective markings are common. Stop and contact points are designed so that the flap rests firmly in the end position.
